Dearest Readers,

I woke up this morning in a cold sweat. I had been having a nightmare. It was simple enough. My daughter watched as we all got in the car and instead of staying where she was unitl we got back, she started chasing us down a busy street. She ran a fast as she could behind the car. She finally avoided getting hit by other cars and other vehicles and jumped on the sidewalk. But my ex-husband was driving and kept driving on as I’m telling him to let me out to get my child. He pulls over finally after miles and let’s me out on the opposite side of the road. There was a fence that would not allow you to cross. In trying to figure out how to cross, I begin to get lost. Then I woke up.

Can you see the symbolism in this dream? I guess, I kind of see it as her trying to follow in my path until she understands that she needs to slow down and take the path that’s right for her. But somewhere amongst the obstacles and chaos, she gets lost or I get lost getting back to her. NOT where we want to go in life, right?

What I want for my child instead is to help lead her down her own path, guiding and shielding her from those obstacles. For she carries within her greatness, her own beauty and passions and desires. My hope is that I can guide her towards her calling while helping her to glorify God.

Hello everyone. Im Velvet Mumma. I’ve always believed that every young girl carries within her the seeds of greatness—seeds waiting to be nurtured, encouraged, and set free to bloom. But in a world that so often tries to define them by impossible standards, it can be hard for our girls to see the beauty, strength, and light that God has placed within them. It is hard for them to stop following others in the world.

As a mom and teacher, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles girls face: the self-doubt, the pressure to fit in, and the endless search for where they belong. My heart ached for a space where they could grow, build confidence, and discover the unique calling God has for their lives. That’s when I felt the Lord whisper a simple but powerful idea into my heart—a book/ social club. Not just a club, but a place where stories and interest would meet to inspire, equip, and empower girls to stand boldly in their faith and identity.

In these letters, I want to share with you not just what this journey looks like, but also encouragement for you as a mom—because I know the weight of wanting the very best for your daughter.

Love, Mumma

Our Daughters Live Their Story

We all want our daughters to have confidence, to believe in themselves, and to stand firm in their God-given identity. Yet, in today’s world, so many girls feel pressured to measure up to impossible standards. They struggle with self-doubt, comparing themselves to others, or feeling like they don’t quite belong. As moms, it’s heartbreaking to watch, and we often wonder—how can we help?

For me, this question weighed heavy on my heart until one day, God placed a vision in my spirit. It wasn’t a loud, booming voice but a quiet nudge—a calling to create a space for girls to grow in confidence, faith, and friendship. I dreamed of a group where they could explore stories that inspire them, participate in a hobbies that interested them, build real connections, and discover the God made them to be ( UNIQUE).

That’s how this book social club came to life. It’s more than just reading—it’s about teaching our girls to embrace their unique gifts, to see themselves and their unique beauty, and to develop the confidence they need to face the world. Through the stories we explore together, the discussions we have, and the passion we nurture, these girls are growing into strong, kind, and courageous young women.

If you’ve been praying for a way to help your daughter grow into the person God created her to be, I believe this could be an answered prayer. As Psalm 139:14 reminds us, “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” This club series is designed to help our girls truly believe that verse—deep in their hearts.

I’d love for your daughter to join us. Together, we can help her discover her God-given confidence, create lasting friendships, and grow in her faith, one story at a time. Let’s partner together to give her the tools she needs to shine.
